Julie Vanderlinden is a registered nurse, holds a degree in Public Health Sciences (Msc) and is doctor in Biomedical Sciences. Julie works as a lecturer and researcher at Odisee University of Applied Sciences in Belgium and University of Brussels (VUB) within the educational programs of nursing, occupational therapy and psychosocial gerontology. Julie is responsible for research in primary care and lifestyle interventions. Her research and teaching activities are mainly focused on lifestyle pillars (sleep, stress, physical activity and sedentary behaviour, nutrition) and non-pharmacological approaches in specific (vulnerable) target groups (such as older adults, social vulnerable older adults, cancer patients, early onset dementia, young informal caregivers, (in)formal caregivers) in order to improve physical and mental outcomes. Julie is represented in national organisations for nursing (NVKVV), and primary care (VIVEL) as well as higher education (VLHORA) and she is an active member of Pain in motion (VUB) and Belgian and European sleep research societies.

With a PhD in Exercise Physiology, her research focuses on physical activity, exercise physiology, and movement interventions, particularly for cancer patients and other specific target groups. She leads a transdisciplinary research group of over 50 researchers and coordinates practice-based innovation projects that focusses on primary care, active and healthy ageing, leadership for care professionals and human centered technology. She is actively engaged in international collaborations and research projects, embodying international, intergenerational, and interdisciplinary cooperation. Ine is committed to integrating scientific insights into real-world healthcare settings and healthcare education.

Margit Eidenberger

University for Applied Sciences for Health Professions – Upper Austria

Profile

Margit Eidenberger is a full professor for physiotherapy at the University for Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria. Her main teaching subjects are manual lymphatic drainage, physiotherapy in surgery and oncology, as well as basic and advanced scientific courses. After her bachelor degree in physiotherapy in 1987 she studied social anthropology, history and Spanish at the University of Vienna. Her research interests lie within manual lymphatic drainage and higher education teaching, in which fields she publishes and presents regularly. She finished her PhD in 2019 in social and economic history at the University of Linz. Besides this, she leads a private practice for physiotherapy with specialisation in oncology and manual lymphatic drainage. She has taken several positions such as deputee for the Austrian Physiotherapy Association in drawing up a guideline for the treatment of extramural diabetes patients or chair at the 3rd European Conference on Physiotherapy Education in Vienna.
